Our Philosophy
Tiny Toes Early Learning Center offers a program that is developmentally appropriate for children ages 2-5 years old. We stress a multi-disciplinary approach that involves the whole child. We believe that a child’s work is play and he/she learns actively through all the senses. We offer opportunities for growth in the following areas:

  • Language and Literacy Development
  • Physical Development / Fine Motor Skills
  • Math, Science and Social Studies
  • The Arts

We also include a special focus on the social and emotional development of each child as they learn to work and play together as a class community. Tiny Toes Early Learning Center is an outreach of the St. James’ Church of Parkton MD, where Christian values are emphasized and a weekly chapel service is held in the church for the Pre-Kindergarten class. We welcome families of all religious backgrounds to bring their children to Tiny Toes and share their beliefs and special observances.

Why Choose Us?

Social and Emotional Development

St. James’ Preschool offers a program that is developmentally appropriate for children ages 2-5 years old. We stress a multi-disciplinary approach that involves the whole child.

Skilled Educators with Huge Hearts

The faculty are skilled educators who have been teaching young children for years. All teachers meet or exceed Maryland State requirements for their position and participate in annual professional development directly related to the early childhood education field. We are excited to welcome your children!

Class Sizes are Small

Class sizes are small so we can give an abundance of individual attention! Our two year old program consists of no more than 5 children with one teacher. Our threes program will have no more than 10 children with one teacher. Pre-K will have no more than 10 children with one teacher. An assistant will “float” between all three classrooms to help where needed.

A Place to Learn, Grow and Play

We include a special focus on the social and emotional development of each child as they learn to work and play together as a class community.

We offer a program that is developmentally appropriate and engaging for children ages 2-5.

We believe that a child’s work is play and that he/she learns actively through all the senses.

Such an amazing school! I travel from York PA everyday to take my son here, and it’s completely worth it. The teachers are phenomenal and the children are so intelligent and full of life. I could go on for hours about how much my son has learned here. You can see that these teachers not only teach these children, but they genuinely care about each and every one of them. They connect with them not only on an educational level, but a personal level as well. I am so glad I found this Preschool for my children.

I have been so pleased with my daughter's experience at St. James. From the first time we visited we felt extremely welcomed. When I drop my daughter off, I know that she is cared for by not only her teacher, but all of the teachers and the director, Diana. There is such a wonderful sense of community at SJP. For a small school, there is a lot going on as well! Field trips, special events at the school, Parents' Night Out, Soccer Shots, and a favorite of my daughter's PJ and pizza day twice a month. I appreciate that I can drop my daughter off anytime after 7AM and can easily make arrangements to have her stay later for a small fee if necessary. I highly recommend SJP for it's loving community of teachers and kids as well as for it's affordability and flexibility.

Diana Hoffman
Owner / Director
I have worked with children over 14 years and began Directing in 2016.

I have always dreamed of owning my own preschool and now my dreams are coming true. I am a firm believer in bringing the wonders of the young mind to life. As a Director, I will uphold the philosophy of the preschool and work with the teachers to ensure the children have a warm, learning and loving environment. Outside of school I love to hike, fish, visit Gettysburg and spend time with family.

I promise to work and play with the children; and together, we will discover endless possibilities to help them achieve their dreams too.

3's Class - Chipmunks Teacher
I have been working in the three’s class since 2016 and love every minute!

I adore the one-on-one interaction with the children and experience life from their point of view. Each child has their own unique way of teaching me something new every day. Observing their individual characters grow during the year provides my motivation to be everything they need me to be; a teacher, a person to hug, or simply someone with to build a train.

During my free time I enjoy going to movies with friends, riding bikes on the trail with my family and getting my nails done! I am very excited to continue here at Tiny Toes!
